Fun fact # 2
How Qonqr's name came about during Startup Weekend September 2010
@Silver was sitting next to GungHo and he got up to go stand up in line to pitch his idea. @Silver leaned over and said, “Why aren’t you going to pitch?” GungHo said, “I will but I just thought of an awesome name and am going to register the domain.” GungHo registered QONQR.com, then stood up and gave his pitch.

That blog post is a ton of fun to read. What was your other idea at the startup event?

It was an idea to allow people to design custom framing for their photography and order online. My parents had a framing business at the time, but in a small town, not a very big market. The idea of doing online design for a retail product to be shipped was very new. The idea is similar to all the photo books you can design and order online, but with wall art. Nothing like the photo books or the wall art idea existed 10 years ago.

My twin brother was the person who introduced me to Qonqr. He lives near Minneapolis and is a programmer. Back then he was into programming on the Windows Mobile Platform. He went to the same Microsoft user groups as @Silver I believe. I'm not sure exactly when, but he called me and told me about this great new game that was location based. We immediately started to playing and really enjoyed the game. It was browser based. Once they built the IOS client and turned off the web client, I took a break until the Android beta came out. I've played everyday since I got into the Android beta.
I think @Silver first let me into the Qonqr UN group, because he thought I was my twin brother. :)

I joined almost five years ago, I was looking for location-based games on the iOS store and downloading everything that looked decent. I got into location-based games after using Strut, which was a ton of fun until they stopped working on it and it got glitchy. I downloaded Qonqr and was almost immediately adopted into the friendly Midwest Swarm community (@Bison, Soupist, Int, Guetzi, etc). I've been on and off a few times since then, but I've always come back for the community. I've had this game for at least 2x longer than any other game because of the great people
